Young Adults

Young adults are on the brink of adulthood, but at the same time not too far removed from their adolescent years. Ready in some ways to move on and become independent, young adults may still be economically dependent on their parents and, in a growing number of instances, still living under their parents’ roof.

Although some young adults may have identified or begun to establish a career path, others struggle with the question of what they want to do with their lives. Similarly, some may be in a committed relationship or be married, while others struggle to establish and maintain satisfying personal relationships. Regardless of where a young adult is on his or her life journey, we can provide a safe, comfortable, accepting environment in which to examine these and other issues.

This process usually involves exploring fundamental questions regarding identity and purpose, which hopefully provide the client with new insights to help him or her be successful and fulfilled in work and love. As young adult clients become more aware of their unique personality, interests, and values, they are able to continue the process of individuating from their parents and becoming “their own person.” By gaining a deeper sense of who they are, they are better able to enter into meaningful, fulfilling personal relationships, pursue career interests with joy and passion, and step fully and actively into new adult roles and responsibilities.
