We are going to confess this outright: we are lovers of books. As such, we are always eager to suggest to our clients one of our favorite books that might be just what that client needs at a particular point in time.
For clients who enjoy reading, this type of adjunct therapy--what we call bibliotherapy--can be an incredibly useful supplement to their therapeutic sessions with us. Our experience is that clients can boost the effect of their therapy by reading between sessions, and then bringing clinically significant material generated by the readings back to their next session.
Under Books, we have listed some of our favorite books in such areas as Men's and Women's Psychology, Relationships, Jungian Works, and other books of interest. We had a hard time narrowing the list down, so be forewarned that we may suggest other books to you at some point during therapy.
Under Organizations, we have compiled a list of some of the organizations that we find to be particularly relevant and helpful. We hope these links are of interest and assistance to you.
