Lorena A. Gorey, Ed.D., LCPC
Lorena Gorey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who has been providing counseling services since 1979. Lorena sees clients in our Crystal Lake office.
Lorena graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She holds an M.S. in Counselor Education from Illinois State University and a doctorate in Counselor Education from Northern Illinois University.
In addition to her formal academic credentials, Lorena has received training at the Center for Cognitive Coaching in Boulder, Colorado. Cognitive coaching is a process that supports individuals in becoming self-directed, with the cognitive capacity to be self-managing, self-monitoring, and self-modifying. Lorena is currently pursuing training to become a certified yoga instructor.
Lorena's clinical work has a special focus on women and adolescents. Lorena's warm and calming presence puts clients at ease. Her empathy and compassion provide clients with a sense of being heard and understood. Her wisdom and practical approach help clients deal effectively and confidently with the various life issues they are facing.
