About

Choosing a counselor or therapist is a very important and difficult decision, which should not be taken lightly. Because counseling involves a considerable commitment of time, energy and financial resources, the selection of a counselor should be done in a very careful and deliberate manner.

Among the factors to consider are, of course, some practical issues such as location, fees, and days/hours of service, as well as more significant issues involving the therapist’s background, training, areas of expertise, and theoretical orientation. Perhaps most critical of all, however, is the “fit” between the therapist and client. If the client does not “click” with the therapist, it is unlikely that much progress will be made—regardless of the therapist’s intelligence, training or knowledge.

If you are interested in finding out whether one of us might be a good fit for you, we encourage you to read our brief bios and the description of our approach to treatment.
